About The Biscuits

Higher Taste Bakehouse is located on the outskirts to the historical town of Evandale, in northern Tasmania. Situated on 10 acres with lovely country views the property is home to a number of rescued farm animals.

Ragan Allison, owner of Higher Taste Bakehouse is vegan and enjoys promoting the simple fact that food can be cooked and enjoyed without the use of any animal products. Common ingredients such as eggs and dairy are produced on a commercial scale through the suffering and exploitation of farmed animals.

During the first year of trading in 2008 Higher Taste Bakehouse attended Sydney's high profile Cruelty-Free Living Festival, hosted by Animal Liberation. The delicious home-style fare proved to be very popular among patrons selling out in only a few hours.

The business was created one day during a conversation with the owner's mother over a batch of freshly made vegan biscuits. Since that day the vegan treats have become a reality with 8 delicious varieties. Higher Taste Bakehouse brings a little bit of heaven through each biscuit.

All products are handmade and packaged in beautifully presented food bags being ideal for the perfect gift. The biscuits are cooked with a vegetable based margarine NUTTELEX LITE. Rice milk is used in place of cows milk and is a light and healthy alternative.
